February 3rd, Tuesday: Luke chaps. 17-18

Luke 17

We'll learn that faith is like a seed.

It seems small and weak, but it has life in it.

If it is cultivated, it will grow and release power

We're gonna learn about the faith that pray.

The 10 men believe that Jesus can heal them of leprosy and He did.

The Samaritan though, not only brought joy to His heart but also received salvation from His hand.

'It is your faith that saved you.' that's what the Lord said.

When God answers your prayers, be sure to tell Him, 'Thank you!'

Faith to be ready when He comes.

The important thing is not to set dates – but to be ready when He comes.

Be ready when He comes.

For true faith leads to faithfulness.

Are you living in the center of God's will today?

To look around at the increase of sin will discourage you.

If you look at this world and all it is involved in, it could be rather disheartening.

Now to look back as did Lot's wife, may destroy you.

So instead, look up, and eagerly expect the Lord's return today

Luke 18

We'll read about confident prayer.

If an unjust judge helps a poor widow, how much more will a loving Father meet the needs of His children?

You can pray confidently for God hears your prayers.

We have open access into the very throne room of God and can claim His gracious promises.

So we ought to pray with faith and confidence.

No need to argue, just come!

The Lord says, 'Come! Come boldly into my throne room.'

We'll also read about arrogant prayer.

Watch out for this.

True prayer should humble us, and make us love others more.

We should be like children coming to a father.

And not like defense lawyers arguing our case.

If prayer doesn't bless the one praying – well, it isn't likely to help anybody else.

We'll be reading about ignorant prayer.

I've prayed about a few of those in my time.

How about you?

Although the young man had many good qualities, one of them was not spiritual understanding.

He did not really see himself, Jesus or the peril he was in, because of his riches.

The tax collector went away justified, while the young man went away sorrowful.

What happens at the close of your prayers?

We'll learn about persistent prayers.

The blind man was not to be stopped.

He had this great opportunity which was passing by him and he would not let it pass.

He heard his voice, and our Lord stopped.

He looked and He listened.

And then He healed.

Jesus is not too busy to hear you.

He is not too busy to stop for you.

Just be sure that you are in earnest when you pray.

And know what you want when He asks you, 'What do you want Me todo for you?'

It was Oswald Chambers who said, 'Revelation of our spiritual standing is what we ask in prayer.'

Sometimes what we ask is an insult to God., actually

We ask with our eyes on the possibilities on ourselves, not on Jesus Christ .

Our prize is the Lord Jesus Himself.
